The sustainable way to build and extend your property

The Code for Sustainable Homes

Structex buildings are designed to meet the highest level of the Code for Sustainable Homes, the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. This means that when you decide to use Structex on your project you are future-proofing your building and designing for tomorrow, not just today. The Code aims to reduce our carbon emissions and create homes that are more sustainable. It applies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is the standard to which all British flats and houses must be designed and built to, by 2016.

The UK Government was committed to reduce UK Carbon Dioxide emissions by 20% below 1990 levels by the year 2010 and to ensure that our nation generates at least 10% of total energy needs from renewable sources by 2015. This forms part of their overall strategy, which is to make all new homes ‘Zero Carbon’ by 2016.

The ‘U’ value of the Structex product is, by design, higher than more traditional methods of construction and the fact that there are fewer joints means that air tightness is vastly improved.
